New Client Process
initial call
Families interested in coming to Daystar call the front office and Mary schedules an assessment appointment with one of our directors. Our front office gets a brief understanding of your situation including your child's age and a short overview of your concerns.
Parents are be able to discuss their child's needs more in-depth with a counselor during the assessment.
You will find many of your questions answered on our "Frequently Asked Questions" page. Please be sure to read through these helpful notes before calling.
assessment
The assessment will begin with your child taking a tour of the Daystar house with one of our directors. The director will spend some time getting to know your child’s unique personality. Next, that director will meet with parents to get an idea of the concerns and needs of the child.
Our home-like atmosphere is one of many of our clients’ favorite parts of Daystar. The warmth is an important part of not just the environment, but the culture at Daystar. There are often dogs that will greet clients in the lobby, there’s spiced tea brewing during the colder months, and there’s always fresh popcorn waiting in the kitchen. We hope you will make yourself at home here.
counseling
If Daystar seems to be a good fit for counseling for your child, our director will match you with a counselor based on your child's personality and needs at the end of your assessment.
At the end of the appointment, the front office schedules three initial appointments with the recommended counselor.
At the end of the third counseling session, the counselor will discuss with the parents’ the best plan for moving forward.
We look forward to getting to know you!
